H. G. Wells Suite The 33rd Annual Charity Dinner and Boxing Night
run by the Rotary Club of Guildford District,
was held at the HG Wells Centre in Woking on Monday 1st March 2010.

The evening proved a great success raising in excess of £20k for deserving causes.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank, past Dutch International and Chelsea footballer
Colbornes Garages our Sponsors and Rotary Dignitaries.

The usual format was followed where over 260 patrons

The standard of the boxing this year was first class with

8 exciting bouts taking place under the direction of the ABA

all arranged by the, Guildford City ABC

featuring some of their most promising boxers

in keen competion from other clubs.

Our sincere appreciation to all for their involvement.

We are most grateful to the members of the

The Guildford Gazelles Ladies Rugby Club

for their enthusiasm in selling the raffle tickets.

The raffle included near 40 desirable items,
our thanks to all who donated these magnificent elements.

Before the auction we were pleased to present to the General Manager of the HG Wells Centre,
Chris Norrington, a signed, framed Liverpool shirt in recognition of all he does for us,
particularly at last year’s event which was disrupted by a fire alarm.

We were fortunate to have a really excellent auctioneer, Mark Longson from Wellers Auctioneers.

including an original oil by Honorary Rotarian David Shepherd.

Through the past 33 years, over 500 hundred charities
have benefited and over half a million pounds distributed.

The two Principal beneficiaries this year are:
Chase Hospice Care for Children
and a further Arusha Children's Education Project.
